Dario Mollo's Crossbones-Rock The Cradle  ©2016 Frontiers Records
Solid hard rock album that also features Carl Sentance on vocals. For those who are unaware, Mollo has worked with Tony Martin on The Cage. Crossbones is actually a band that has been around for a very long time with their debut appearing in 1989. I found this album to have good songs and a nice polished sound. The music has good punch but never loses the melody. This is a tight group of musicians as one will be able to tell in listening to this album. The album's sound fits in well with the Frontiers catalog and in most ways is old school. A solid title for fans of traditional hard rock!

Derek Davis-Revolutionary Soul    ©2017 Apocalypse Records
Looking back, I always liked Babylon A.D. They had a good sound and quite an impact on the hard rock scene back in the very late 80's and early 90's. Well, this album by Davis is something completely different. The music on this album is more of a fusion of R&B, Funk, and hard rock. I actually dig this record a lot. Davis actually does this very well. Now with that said, it may not be for everybody. Go into this with an open mind and I think you'll have a blast with it. There is a really cool cover of 'Nobody Knows You When You're Down and Out'.  Definitely different, but quite fun nonetheless.

Firewind-Immortals  ©2017 AFM Records
Absolutely tight collection of melodic metal songs from this Greek metal band that features Gus G and Bob Katsionis. We've looked at the work of both and been quite impressed. Firewind is very impressive and this album is pretty large. The album is conceptual in nature, so it really is large in both music and subject material. Upon first listen I was drawn in by just how great it sounded. Musically, it will appeal to fans of power metal and traditional metal sounds and does have a memorable feel to it. We missed these guys last time, but are really glad we got in on promoting this release. Very solid!

Fragile Things-Broken Sun   ©2017 Fragile Things
This may be an ep and a bit short, but it will throttle you with some great modern rock sounds. To be honest, I do hear more classic sounds in the music as well. It's more of a hybrid in my opinion. The ep contains 4 tracks of equal quality. With the hybrid feel, this band has a hell of opportunity for crossover potential when it comes to fans and gaining fans. You get a bit of a Guns 'n Roses sleaze feel mixed with a more modern bit of sound like Velvet Revolver. This one is meant to be played loud and put it on repeat. Keep an eye on this band in the future. I feel there is great potential here.

Night Ranger-35 Years And A Night In Chicago   ©2016 Frontiers Records
For this review I took in the album first and then went to the Blu-Ray. This is an absolutely great live performance by the band. As some bands from the 80's era aren't aging very well, Night Ranger still has it. I liked the fact that the first two albums were represented fairly well in this live set including the tracks 'Night Ranger' and 'Don't Tell Me You Love Me'. You also get the fan favorites such as 'Sister Christian' and ' When You Close Your Eyes'. The band brought great energy to this anniversary set. I always prefer the live stuff in video format and felt the Blu-Ray was done well. Solid live stuff!
