Anubis Gate-Horizons ©2014 Nightmare Records
Very good new release from Anubis Gate after a bit of time has passed since their previous album,. The music is very melodic overall with solid progressive elements throughout. The lead off track 'Destined to Remember' was released as a gift on an e.p. recently. The music tends to be similar to that track in terms of sound. As always with this band, musicianship is very good and the overall flow of the album makes for a pretty good listen. This release has been very anticipated by the fans and I can tell them that it will not disappoint. Definitely shows why they are one of the genres best!

Miracle Master-Tattooed Woman ©2014 Goldencore Records
Fans familiar with the band Pump may already be familiar with Miracle Master. Sometimes you just need to throw off all classifications that music tends to get these days and just offer up a good old school ass-kicking hard rock record. That is 'Tattooed Woman' at its core. Good melodies and great hard driving licks. The music took me back to the late 80's or early 90's. There is definitely a fan base out there that is looking for this very type of record and it's my job to help bring it to your attention. Definitely worth going back to time and time again and listening without skipping anything!

Existance-Steel Alive ©2014 Mausoleum Records
I cut my teeth on metal music in the early 80's. The band Existance and their upcoming release do 2 things. Restore my faith in an everchanging genre and let me live that early era of metal all over again. This album is old school all of the way. It's based in metal and has that familiar intensity. Good flashy guitar work including decent solos. What makes these records for me is just the hard driving nature of each song. Vocal work is old school as well. No modern screamers here. The album itself is consistent. If you like what you hear early on, it's a good bet you like the whole album. Good solid metal album!

Winger-Better Days Comin' ©2014 Frontiers Records
The latest album from 80's rockers Winger is similar in ways to the last two albums from the band. I like the direction the band has been heading personally. There are songs to appease the 80's crowd as well as other music that has a bit more sophisticated feel. There are good rockers such as 'Rat Race' and also very good melodic tunes like 'Ever Wonder'. I really like the title track. Starts off in typical rock fashion but ends up having a cool 70's vibe in the beat and vocals in my opinion. The edition I have also has a DVD with some video assets. Pretty happy with this release and would recommend it!

Kill Ritual-The Eyes of Medusa ©2014 Goldencore Records
Fans of Dark Angel or Imagika should already be familiar with Kill Ritual. Hailing from the Bay area, this band serves up their platter of metal in a very heavy fashion. Most of what you'll hear on the bands latest record 'The Eyes pf Medusa' will be considered thrash which I was a big fan of when it became prominent in the late 80's. Good heavy fast driving riffs and a thunderous tempo make this album a treat to me. I really like the vocals as well. It's not so intense that it comes across as just another angry metal album. It tends to have just the right amount of balance to make it very enjoyable!
